Firm ProfileDennie Hardin. Born in Nuremberg, West Germany, on October 19, 1965, Dennie is the second of four sons born to Ralph and Levina Hardin, who live in Meade County, Kentucky. Dennie’s father was in the U.S. Army for 20 years and so much of Dennie’s early life was spent moving from one location to the other. He graduated from Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky in 1984 and received a music scholarship to the University of Louisville. However, soon after starting college, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and went off to basic training at Cape May, New Jersey. Following graduation from Hotel Company 119, Hardin was given orders for the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro in mid-1985. While waiting for his ship to arrive, Hardin was temporarily assigned to the Coast Guard station at Kodiak Island, Alaska. It was there that Dennie became a Christian, realizing that life without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ would be futile and meaningless. Shortly after embarking on the Munro, Hardin met several other Christians who discipled him. These early days of Christian growth were extremely important in his overall growth into a Christian man. After being honorably discharged in 1989 from the U.S. Coast Guard, Hardin moved back to Kentucky and got a job as a police dispatcher for the Elizabethtown Police Department. In 1990, Hardin was selected to go to the police academy in Richmond, Kentucky. Following graduation from Class 199 of the Department of Criminal Justice Training Basic Class, Hardin began his career as a police officer in Elizabethtown. Most of his time with EPD was as a patrol officer on second shift, working the hours of 4:00 pm to 2:00 am. In 1993, however, Hardin left the police department and enrolled at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After graduating from WKU in 1996 with a B.A. in History, Hardin married the former Sandy Whittinghill. After a year in Michigan at Cooley Law School, Hardin transferred to the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. During his second year of law school, he became a father for the first time. Graduating in 1999, the Hardin family moved back to Bowling Green. Two more children followed. Today, he has been in practice for nearly ten years. During this time period, Hardin has been the lead counsel in about 70 criminal jury trials. His practice areas include criminal defense, personal injury, employment litigation, landlord/tenant law, and debtor-creditor law.The Harstons then moved back to Bowling Green in order to be closer to family. Jeremiah began his practice of law with Keen & Hardin, Attorneys at Law, learning various areas of the law, but primarily focusing on criminal defense and family law. Catherine and Jeremiah had their first child, Luke, in October of 2004. In March of 2006, Jeremiah became an associate with Dennie Hardin & Associates where he focuses his practice on criminal defense.
